USC builds two container parks in Sweden
After we had taken care of the construction of a container park in Norway earlier this autumn, it was now the turn of neighbouring Sweden. The plan was that we would build both parks, intended for the dynamic storage company Kontain, before October. After that, there was a good chance that winter would fall. But unfortunately that went a little differently…
Scandinavian winter
Due to various logistical hurdles, the containers only arrived on site at the end of November. And King Winter was present very early this year in Scandinavia. That meant that our construction team had to deal with temperatures well below -10 degrees and snowfall while building the park. Moreover, in Sweden it gets dark around this time of year already at three o’clock in the afternoon.
Due to the harsh winter weather, our construction team was unable to build as quickly as usual, but the storage park has now been completed. Still a great achievement! And, as we expected, our containers are very resistant to the harsh winter conditions.
Two phases
The construction of the two container parks in Eskilstuna and Västeras will take place in two phases. The second phase will be carried out in early 2022, after the severe winter period. In total, both parks will contain several hundred storage units.
Kontain is delighted with the collaboration with USC and the fast installation. We were the only company that could deliver the containers within the desired period, albeit with some delay. And we are very proud of that.
