Winter Special: A Year of Growth and Innovation

As we close another year, it becomes clear how much the sector has grown — and how USC has developed along with it. From trade shows and site visits to new product developments and stronger collaborations, 2025 offered us countless opportunities to learn, innovate and support our customers. In this Winter Special, we look back at the highlights of the year and share what’s coming as we confidently head towards 2026.

Winter Greetings from USC

As the year draws to a close, we would like to thank all our customers, partners and colleagues and extend our warm winter greetings. It has been a busy and successful year for USC, and we are grateful to everyone who has been a part of this journey.

Here is a message from Jan-Hein and Maarten on behalf of USC:

Dear partner,

At the end of the year, it is a good time to pause for a moment. 2025 offered us the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, which regularly took us outside our beautiful Netherlands. We were active in England, Ireland, Spain, France, Germany and Sweden. Collaborations that we look back on with pleasure and great involvement. The intensity of the travel became strikingly visible when Danny reached a level where the crew of Stena Line greeted him by his first name.

Some locations were particularly memorable. The 125th anniversary BAR meeting in the House of Parliament in London, the Shurgard container park in Berlin Tempelhof where traces of the Second World War are still visible in the main building, but also the sunny delivery and construction of the Constar Park on the Costa Blanca. Our crew was very charmed by this fantastic beach location in June!

There were also great milestones in the technological field. In October, together with Janus, we completed a park in Aberdeen, Scotland, where the Janus Noke electronic lock is integrated into the roll-up door. In addition, the collaboration with software company Stora is an important highlight. They are the first party to have fully integrated our electronic locks into their management software. This collaboration was crowned with the joint organization of a successful party for all storage stakeholders during the Fedessa Conference in Dublin.

A lot has also happened behind the scenes. Earlier this year, we introduced a container that has been specially developed for the moving industry. Thanks to well-thought-out dimensions and suitable connections, this is a practical and efficient solution for the transport of the well-known wooden moving crates.

With this foundation, we look forward to 2026. A year in which we will continue to build on what is already there and in which we will present some changes. We will come back to this, they are aimed at further improvement and innovation.

We thank you for your trust and cooperation in 2025 and look forward to continuing this in the new year.

We wish you happy holidays and a prosperous 2026!

Our last conferences of the year

November ended the season strongly with The Movers & Storers Show 2025, the leading trade show in the United Kingdom for the moving, storage and self-storage industry. It is the meeting place for suppliers, operators and newcomers to network, discover innovations and get acquainted with the latest equipment, technologies and solutions that shape the sector.

During the trade show, we presented two of our most discussed solutions:

The Z Box – This remains our best-selling product. Our storage container distinguishes itself through its flexibility: it is flatpackable, easy to transport and assemble, weatherproof, insulated and ventilated. In addition, there are multiple options for access security, ranging from a standard padlock to fully integrated electronic locks.

The StowBox – The StowBox offers a simple solution for independent moving. Customers can easily attach the StowBox trailer to their car without the need for a special driving license. This gives them the freedom to transport their belongings themselves. When the StowBox is not in use, it can be stored stackable, which ensures efficient storage.

Just a few days later, USC was also present at the AISI Self-Storage Conference in Italy, led by Jan-Hein. This event brought together Italian self-storage professionals to discuss trends, innovations and solutions tailored to the local market.

Both events offered valuable conversations with operators, partners and suppliers about their needs for 2025. This feedback will be directly incorporated into the improvements we are currently working on.

Strengthening collaborations

This year, we further invested in building long-term and practical partnerships.

Janus & roller doors

Our collaboration with Janus continues to grow, particularly in the area of roller door integrations and solutions that simplify installation and increase sustainability. These improvements make our units even better suited for various layouts and applications. A recent example is Storage Den in Aberdeen, Scotland.

MyLock & Stora

Digital access remains one of the most important trends within the sector. That is why our collaboration with the MyLock Open API, in combination with the self-storage software from Stora, is an important step forward. This integration makes it easier for operators to link access control to bookings, management and customer onboarding. Efficient, modern and exactly what the market demands.

Looking ahead to 2026

With 2025 almost behind us, we look forward to an active and promising new year. One of the highlights will be our participation in FEDESSA 2026, where we will present new updates, product improvements and some surprises, more on that later.

We continue to develop our units, expand our collaborations and refine our technology, always with the needs of our customers at the center.
