On stage at the FEDESSA Sustainability Award!

Universal Storage Containers (USC) is proud to announce that we won an award at this year’s FEDESSA Sustainability Awards. This shows how our smart and environmentally friendly solutions are not only good for the environment, but also help storage companies grow.

Sustainability within USC

We are very pleased with the award as we have sustainability integrated into every aspect of our containers. The sustainable solutions of our Z-Box are not only good for the environment, but also functionality and profitability for your storage business. We are happy to tell you a little more about the different aspects of sustainability within USC.

Solar Solutions

With custom solar panel structures, each Z-Box can be equipped with six solar panels. This energy-efficient design allows storage sites to operate independently of conventional power sources. We have implemented solar panels on our containers at several locations this year. At our demo park in Deventer, however, we have been doing it in practice for years. Flatpacked transport

Flatpacked Transport: transporting up to 12 flatpacked containers per truck significantly reduces emissions and contributes to a smaller carbon footprint. Compared to traditional containers, we require up to six times fewer transports, resulting in an 83% emissions reduction.

The ‘Three R principle’ (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle)

Flatpacked transport also falls within the “Three R principle.” A 40ft shipping container can carry up to 12 Z-Boxes, greatly reducing transportation from the factory to the customer and reducing the carbon footprint. In addition, the containers are designed for easy disassembly so that individual parts can be reused for maintenance or repairs. This extends the life of the containers and minimizes material consumption. In addition, our containers are fully recyclable. The materials can be easily separated so that they do not end up in landfills at the end of their life cycle.

Greenroofs

Installing sedum roofs keeps our containers naturally cooler, reducing the need for energy-intensive air conditioning. These roofs also promote biodiversity in urban areas.
