AESS Conference in Spain
One of the nice things about our profession is that we are still on the road sometimes. For example, from March 29 to 31, colleague Leo Young and I attended the AESS conference in Madrid, Spain, as USC representatives. The AESS is the Spanish trade association of self storage operators.
The Spanish self storage market has now become quite mature. After England and France, Spain offers a lot of opportunities, according to statistics from the umbrella European trade association FEDESSA (source: Fedessa Annual survey 2021) the most number of square feet of storage space. The activities of the AESS industry association have certainly contributed positively to this. The chosen show venue alone, the Wanda Metropolitana, Atlético Madrid’s new soccer stadium, was worth a visit.
For the visitors there were, as always, interesting speakers and workshops. Fortunately, most of the fairgoers also had time to visit our booth and listen to our presentation. It felt good after two long corona years to be able to see and speak to everyone ‘live’ again. After the show, we were given a tour of the beautiful stadium of that “other” Madrid soccer club. In short, it was a successful trip.
